Walnut Creek Welcomes Easy Breezy, Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea, and Chip Cookies

Walnut Creek has recently welcomed three new dessert and beverage shops, each offering unique treats and catering to various dietary needs.

Easy Breezy: This frozen yogurt and custard shop offers gluten-free, vegan, high-protein, and nonfat options, with flavors like Busta Limes and Hella Nutella. The shop aims to create a community space reminiscent of Midwestern shake shacks.

Yifang Taiwan Fruit Tea: Opening in late March, this shop serves a variety of tea-based drinks including boba, fruit teas, and smoothies. Signature drinks include Taiwanese fruit teas and the Yi Fang fruit tea, accommodating dietary restrictions with plant-based milk substitutes.

Chip Cookies: This shop opened on June 1 and offers late-night cookie deliveries with classic flavors like chocolate chip and sugar. They also provide a cookie bar for custom toppings and cookie dough for home baking.

Walnut Creek City Council to Discuss Juneteenth and Open Space Foundation Anniversary

The Walnut Creek City Council will hold a special closed session meeting at 5:00 PM and a regular meeting at 6:00 PM on June 18, 2024. The agenda includes proclamations, consent calendar items like approval of minutes and various resolutions, public communications, council and staff reports, and public hearings on bond issuance for John Muir Health, and annual assessments for the Tourism Business Improvement District. The meeting will also feature an update on the Council's 2023-2024 priorities and will adjourn in memory of Charlie Abrams.

Enjoy Half-Off Wednesdays at Clarke Swim Center This Summer!

The Clarke Swim Center is offering a special promotion: Half-off Wednesdays! From June 12th to July 31st, children and youth can enjoy the swim center at a significantly reduced cost. On Wednesdays during this period, admission is only $2 for children aged 0-6 and $2.50 for youth aged 7-17. Please note that the adult admission price remains unchanged, and the discount does not apply to inflatable rentals. Come and take advantage of this offer for some midweek fun in the pool. Happy swimming!

Camp Little Walnut is gearing up for an exciting Summer 2024, promising a season filled with fun, adventure, and new experiences. Designed for young campers, the program features a variety of age-appropriate games and activities that aim to build confidence and foster independence. From engaging creative projects to forming lasting friendships, children are set to enjoy every moment at the camp. Each week, kids can look forward to special themes, unique adventures, and educational activities, ensuring they are eager to return each morning.
