Public Invited to Attend City Update Meeting at Walnut Creek City Hall

On July 26, 2024, at 7:30 a.m., city leaders and commission representatives will gather for a special standing committee meeting on the third floor of City Hall in Walnut Creek. This quarterly meeting, presided over by Mayor Loella Haskew and Mayor Pro Tem Cindy Darling, serves as a platform for city-appointed representatives from various countywide commissions to provide updates on their recent activities.

The meeting will commence with a roll call, followed by a public comment session, which, according to California law, is restricted to items listed on the agenda. The approval of the minutes from the previous meeting on April 26, 2024, will be the next order of business.

The main focus of the meeting will be updates from representatives of countywide commissions and committees, as well as commission chairpersons and vice-chairpersons, city staff, and the Mayor and Mayor Pro Tem. These updates are essential for fostering communication and ensuring that all legislative bodies within the city are aligned and informed about each other’s actions since the last meeting.

This collaborative session aims to enhance transparency and cooperation among the various city and county entities. No formal actions or decisions will be made during this meeting; it is purely an informational and communicative exercise.

Public participation is encouraged, with options to attend in person or submit written comments via email. Comments received at least two hours prior to the meeting will be included in the official record and shared with the committee members.
