Walnut Creek City Update: Emergency Preparedness, Council Meetings, and Community Events
Emergency Preparedness & Wildfire Safety
The City of Walnut Creek encourages residents to stay prepared for emergencies by signing up for critical alerts and reviewing the city’s emergency management resources.
City Council Meetings
February 11: A special meeting will focus on setting the city’s strategic priorities for 2025-26.
Attend in person or watch live on Walnut Creek TV, YouTube, and other streaming platforms.
Volunteer for a City Commission or Board
Walnut Creek is accepting applications for:
Design Review Commission (must be a registered architect)
Board of Appeals (reviews building code disputes)
Both positions have terms ending in 2028.
Share Your Thoughts on Transportation
The Contra Costa Transportation Authority is updating its countywide transportation plan. Residents can provide input by completing a short survey to help shape future roads, public transit, and bike infrastructure.
Spring & Summer Recreation Registration Open!
Spring Classes & Camps: Options include Ninja Camp, LEGO Robotics, youth theater, and fitness programs.
Summer Camps: Register early for discounts throughout February.

Joybound's Unleash the LOVE Festival to Feature Food Trucks, Beer Garden, and Adoptable Pets
Animal lovers and foodies alike have plenty to look forward to this Saturday at Joybound’s Unleash the LOVE Festival and Adopt-a-thon. The event will feature a diverse lineup of food vendors, including Bay Area Munchiez, King Gyro, Hella Mas, Softee NorCal (offering free treats), and Chip Cookies Bay Area.
Beyond the delicious eats, attendees can enjoy a beer garden, a local marketplace, flash tattooing, games, and—of course—adorable, adoptable animals looking for their forever homes. With a packed schedule of fun and heartwarming moments, this is an event animal enthusiasts won’t want to miss.

Singles Masquerade Party Coming to Life Time Walnut Creek This Friday
Get ready for a night of mystery and fun as Life Time Walnut Creek hosts a Singles Masquerade Party this Friday, February 7th, from 7–11 PM in the Bar Lounge. Whether you're a member or not, this event offers a chance to mix and mingle in a lively atmosphere.
Guests can enjoy a live DJ, a full bar, and a 360° photo booth to capture the night’s best moments. Facility tours will also be available for those interested in exploring Life Time’s amenities.
The event takes place at Life Time Walnut Creek, located at 1315 Broadway Plaza. Attendees are encouraged to wear a mask and embrace the evening’s theme.
