Unleash the LOVE Adopt-a-thon & Celebration

Joybound People & Pets, formerly known as Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), is hosting the “Unleash the Love” Adopt-a-Thon and Celebration alongside more than 10 other animal rescue organizations. This collective effort aims to find loving homes for as many cats and dogs as possible and to celebrate the loving bond between people and pets. The event is scheduled for Saturday, February 17, from 11 am to 3 pm in Walnut Creek, CA.

The celebration offers a chance for attendees to meet and possibly adopt cats and dogs. Highlights include food trucks, music, face painting, free ice cream, and other giveaways. Therapy animals will be present to spread love, and free microchipping is available for the first 100 pets.

Community and Conservation Clash with Utility Company's Safety Measures

A Walnut Creek homeowner is clashing with PG&E over its plan to remove more than a dozen oak trees from her property, citing compliance with safety regulations due to the trees' proximity to high voltage lines. The homeowner has fortified her property and hired an attorney to contest PG&E's decision, which marks a departure from a long-standing agreement to prune rather than remove the trees. The homeowner values the trees for privacy and sentimental reasons, while PG&E stresses the necessity of their removal for community safety and to prevent potential emergencies. Learn More
