Vandals Strike Vallejo Tesla Station, Multiple Supercharger Nozzles Stolen
This weekend, several Tesla Supercharger nozzles were stolen from a station outside Vallejo's Target store, marking another instance in a series of similar thefts across the country. Local Tesla owners and former security expert Joshua Beckler shared insights on the theft, suggesting the high value of copper in the cables might be the thieves' target. Despite surveillance cameras in the area, no suspects have been identified, and both Tesla and Target have yet to respond to inquiries. Learn Moreā¦
Oakland Unions Protest Layoffs, Urge City to Recover Unpaid Business Taxes
Oaklandās public unions are urging the city to focus on collecting unpaid business taxes instead of contemplating layoffs to manage a $177 million budget deficit. Union representatives argue that collecting $34 million in overdue license taxes could alleviate some financial pressures. Despite this, city officials indicate difficulties in recovering these funds, partly due to business closures from the pandemic. The potential budget cuts could affect various city services, with unions particularly worried about impacts on emergency response times and public safety. Learn Moreā¦

Diablo Ballet Ends Season with Stravinsky's Iconic The Firebird
Diablo Ballet will culminate its 2023/24 season with the world premiere of The Firebird a captivating new ballet choreographed by Brian Enos to the illustrious score of Igor Stravinsky. This enchanting one-act fairy tale, set to be performed at the Lesher Center for the Arts in Walnut Creek, California, features a prince and princess whose love story is heroically influenced by the mystical Firebird. The ballet will run on May 17 and 18, 2024.
The evening will also showcase "4 in the Morning," a dance piece by Val Caniparoli inspired by Edith Sitwell's poem of the same name and set to William Waltonās "FaƧade (An Entertainment)." Created originally for Amy Seiwartās Imagery in 2016, this performance evokes the luxurious ambiance of the Roaring Twenties.
Additionally, the program includes "Light Rain," choreographed by Gerald Arpino. First presented in 1981 for the Joffrey Ballet's Silver Anniversary, this work remains a beloved staple, known especially for its mesmerizing Pas de Deux. Diablo Ballet's interpretation promises to bring this audience favorite to life once more.
The entire event is expected to last approximately 90 minutes, including an intermission. Tickets for this stellar end-of-season performance are available for purchase now.
